Simplify Life ~ How to Detangle Doll Hair
and before you can say to your daughter,"Pick up all of those little Barbie pieces,
shoes, combs...etc", you notice the massive mop atop Barbie's head. Looks like she had a rough night
of partying or something. Sydney has brought me numerous dolls, asking me to help get the knots out, but
if you have ever combed/brushed synthetic hair, you know it is nothing like human hair.
So I started asking around & one of my friends told me about this nifty little trick that works
AmAzInGly!! Thanks Jenn!
Grab your dollies & lets help Barbie bring her sexy back.
(haha I can't believe I just wrote that! lol)
You Will Need
spray bottle
wide toothed comb (or really any comb or brush should do)
fabric softener-liquid
(which I grabbed a bottle at the dollar store, because if it didn't work, then I was only out $1)
doll(s) with tangled, messy hair
OK this is super simple trust me, it's a no brainer.
Put some liquid fabric softener into a small spray bottle, I grabbed the one I use with water when giving haircuts to the fam. I added a little water(like I turned the faucet on then immediately back off), so it was really just a splash. Honestly, I think you can skip this step, I just didn't know, so I was experimenting. It worked perfectly, so there was no need to try anything different. So you hold the spray bottle about 5 inches away from the doll & lightly spritz. You do not need to saturate the hair, just dampen it. Then comb through. I combed the same way I do my daughters(& my) hair, by starting at the bottom & brush to the ends, then go up a little from when I started before & comb to the ends, and continue this until you are at the top of the head & can brush through all the way to the ends without a snag. If the comb skips or snags(sorry don't know the correct term) then give it a spritz of the liquid fabric softener. Now you can style as desired & let air dry.
How simple is that?!?
I love this for the dolls because now they can have nice, smooth hair again.
Please feel free to pin this, & comment below if you try this~ I'd love to hear how you like it!
Thanks for reading!

Revolt Blogger ~ Week 6 ~ Regrowing Your Lettuce Hearts
So a couple of weeks ago one of the women in the private Revolt Fb group
posted a tip that you could regrow your own romaine lettuce. I thought it sounded so cool,
especially since I'm not much of a green thumb.
So basically when you get to the end of your romaine heart, you put it in a dish with about an inch of water, which you change out the water every day. You can read more about it from someone who is well into growing their own romaine here. There are pictures showing how fast it grows on there too.
They say that you can do the same with celery and green onions too.....
so I thought hmm, I wonder if it would work for the red leaf lettuce I had just separated from the heart?
So cool! I know it's not much, but it's a start, plus it'll save me a little cash too once I get a few more going. I have a new pack of romaine I'm excited to use so I can start those too, and hey why stop there? I'm going to have to try the celery, and other varieties of lettuce and stalk type vegetables
too. How fun.
Have you ever tried to regrow from a stalk or end of a vegetable? If so, what was it
& did you have success?
Oh and if you haven't checked out Revolt Now Fitness yet,
what are you waiting for. This week starts the 1st week in the next 6 week uprising, called Revolt 2.0.
Nichole Huntsman continues to improve the program and let me tell you, these next 6 weeks are going to be amazing! I am ready to shape up and I will be sharing my progress with you too.
Much Love

Revolt Blogger ~ Week 5 ~ Some Important Tools You Will Need Before You Get Started
OK, so you know I have been doing the Revolt Fitness program
with Nichole Huntsman and as a result I am getting leaner and stronger as a result. Tonight I just want to let you in on some key items you will need to help make
your journey a success!
So before I started, I saw that Nichole recommends a few items to help you measure your progress.
1-a standard scale
2-body fat calipers
3-measuring tape(one that is flexible for circumference measurements)
I thought OK, cool I already have a scale and the measuring tape that should be good enough right?
Well, no. After the second week, I didn't see anymore movement on the scale as I had during the detox week. I saw all of the other (let's call them) Revolters losing body fat and having huge success.
Yes, OK I've had a few slip ups from time to time but I knew in order to stay motivated, I had to get some calipers.
Here's what they look like:

Anyways, so I went on my search to find a pair of these manual body fat calipers......
I tried GNC,
Vitamin World
Academy Sports
Dick's Sporting Goods
.....but none of them carried any type of fat calipers.
So I ordered a pair off of ebay and after another week went by, and I still had no idea what kind of
lean muscle I was gaining, but more importantly I had no true numbers in how much fat I was losing.
Something I was caught off guard with was the extra expenses of the program, which with a family of six, we really need to budget for certain things.
So when everyone was showing off their HRM(heart rate monitors) and how many calories they were burning, I started looking into purchasing one of those.
The brand most of the Revolters are using is Polar. Before Revolt Fitness, I had not even heard of the brand or even used one for that matter. These Polar HRM have different models, and colors, and prices. It can be very confusing for someone with no real knowledge of these types of fitness tools.
So, again I mention the Revolt private Facebook community. I asked which one I should get & why and the replies were exactly what I needed, honest reviews from people who are in the program.
I narrowed down options I needed/could live without and I decided a mid priced model ft7 which retails for around $100(higher models are $130-$150).
I found this one on Amazon.com but at $89, it was still too steep for me to swing financially.
So I waited, and looked around at some stores, and waited,
and then out of nowhere the price dropped another $20.
So I ordered one, along with this digital body fat/mass caliper from Amazon.
Again, another Revolter mentioned she purchased this model on Amazon the week before
and loved it. She said she got hers for $25, when I looked it was down to $16 so I snagged one of those too. She said it was easy to use and accurate, which is definitely a bonus since people had reported the manual calipers to be hard to figure out. For those of you live in Utah, Nichole has hosted body fat measuring get-togethers. That's great to have an expert measure you so you know your numbers are correct, but for me....Georgia is a little far away.
I wouldn't have gone for the digital one because Nichole says they aren't as accurate, but since
there was someone in the group who had used it and said it was, I thought it was better than nothing.
Especially when I still had not received the manual caliper I had ordered a couple of weeks prior.
So I received my Polar ft7 HRM on Friday and my digital caliper should be here by Tuesday.
I am so excited to see the difference in using the correct tools and collecting the combined data to see my true progress!
What is the number one tool you have found to be the most useful in your weight loss journey?
I'd love to hear what has helped you, for me I know seeing the progress will certainly help me stay on track and motivated.
Much Love

Revolt Blogger ~ Week 4 ~ I am Getting Stronger!
It's really an amazing thing to feel yourself getting stronger.
I've never been a big workout kinda girl. I mean, after Jackson was born
-boom, I went right back down to my pre-pregnancy weight without even trying. That was 14 years ago though, a lot has changed since then. But even when Sydney was born, almost 9 years ago, same thing just took a little longer- maybe 3 months. Again though, I didn't workout and I ate what I wanted.
Perhaps that has caught up with me over the years? I'm not sure but after Michaela was born my body didn't have enough time to lose the weight(even if I tried) before I was pregnant with Landon. I gained 40lbs with each pregnancy and have tried a few diets here and there after the last 2 were born, but none have stuck. Either that, or I haven't been able to fully commit.
My husband and I have been switching out the food we were used to purchasing with healthier options. Opting for about 80% being produce, trying to buy from Trader Joe's more often, and staying away from processed foods(pretty much anything that comes in a box). I think those small
changes have made a huge impact on our family.
But I still needed more, more direction, more exercise, more support.
That's where Revolt came in to play.
Nichole Huntsman has made me stronger,
with her daily video workouts-she has made my body stronger,
with her weekly meal plans-she has made me stronger/more aware about what food is OK or not,
with her facebook community-she(and all of the members) have helped me to not give up,
and that has made a huge difference because the support is like nothing I've ever had before with a diet or program.
These are Nichole's before and after pictures
I feel like I have improved so much in such a short amount of time(4 weeks to be exact).
My brain, body, and health are so much stronger as a result of this Revolt and
I am grateful to everyone who has been a part of it and made it happen!
I still have a ways to go, but I feel, for once that my goals are well within reach!
Much Love

Revolt Blogger ~ Week 3 Dieting And Young Children=A Very Challenging Combo
So here I am in week 3 of the Revolt Fitness Program by Nichole Huntsman.
I'm gonna be honest,
(some people may find it a fault to be honest in everything you say, but that's
just how I live)
but if you ever tried working out with little ones under you, or a million
other things that can (and do) pop up to throw a wrench in your fitness routine
or dieting,
then you know what I mean.
The Revolt program does work, and pre making all of your food for the week
helps you stay on the plan & not stray, but my biggest question is......
What do you feed your children when you are on a fitness program like Revolt?
I mean my two older children (ages 14 & 8) go with the flow
and eat whatever we put on their plate.
However, my younger two (ages 3 & 2)......not so much.
So, I don't always cook all of my food for the week, because
well I am at home, so I'd rather cook my meals 2-3 days at a time.
My husband is doing the plan with me, just to share in the experience
and give me another perspective, a man's point of view shall we say?
Anyways, that is where we find the biggest problem with being strict to
a plan. We are a family of 6, on my husband's income & 2 of our children eat like adults.
We have been shopping at Trader Joe's the last few weeks we have been on the Revolt
program, and then we still have to go to Publix for our meats, eggs, milk,
and any other produce we want, and our grocery bill has gone from
$150 a week to $300. That's a huge jump when you're trying to stay in a budget.
I am finding it hard to keep up with the diet, since we can't really plan or prepare, as we don't get the next week's meal plan until a day or two before the next week starts. This plan is great for single men & women because it's easy and you get results fast! I just don't see it being sustainable for me,
as much as I want it to be. When you have young children, or a large family (yes & yes)
you either need more planning or a meal plan that works for the whole family.
There's also the issue of trying to find time to workout when you have a large family. Whether it's trying to schedule it around nap time or getting up before everyone else, but let's face it, that doesn't always happen when you have kids.
Just take your time and give it your all (or all you can that day) and you will reach your goal...
We will reach our goals!

Revolt Blogger ~Week 2 ~ Stay Strong, Temptation Is All Around
So here we are, another week down on the Revolt program and I must say it was a much tastier week with the addition of pancakes made with oatmeal, then there was greek yogurt with strawberries, sweet potato fries, and even dessert! I didn't have the ricotta tiramisu as we had missed grabbing the ricotta while at the store, so I just substituted with a whey protein shake. My suggestion to all of you who don't like whey protein, grab the vanilla whey protein from Trader Joe's. I personally cannot stand anything that tastes like vitamins or gritty. This was the first time I'd ever tried whey protein powder and it was very smooth, frothy even, and didn't have a grittiness to it or a weird taste either. Trust me, I'm super sensitive to tastes & smells.
It seems on this fitness plan, that each week the menu gets a little better, and of course you still get the once a week, "eat anything you've been craving day". Even with that cheat day to look forward to, getting through the week can be hard. We ordered pizza one night for the kiddos, and while I've never been big into pizza, it sure smelled yummy that night while my hubby & I ate our chicken :( like we were supposed to.
Now Thursday night, that was another story....because by Thursday I was sweet potato & green beaned out. I had been having a hard time eating all the food on the plan as it was, as you need your protein to repair your muscles. We just couldn't stomach the balsamic chicken that I made in the crock pot for dinner that night and well the veggies didn't hold us over that long. We had been making the chicken that week just with a little salt & pepper even though it called for balsamic, but when I made it Thursday, it just tasted SO strongly of vinegar. My husband ended up making a run to Five Guys later that night for "dinner", and yes I had the most delicious LBC I've had ;)
However, I felt guilty afterwards.
It seems I wasn't the only one who slipped up this week, as some of the ladies confessed of eating candy bars, fast food, and more. None of which are on the plan, but we are all human and we make mistakes. You have to stay strong and when you slip up, own up & then try harder next time to stay on track. Weight loss & getting & staying fit is a lifestyle change, so it's not going to happen over night.
Temptation is everywhere, especially if you have kids,
work outside the home, or go to the store, the movies,
it's EVERYWHERE!
It's about staying strong and staying focused on the prize,
for me.....it's to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
For you......it could be $10,000 as that is what the person with the most dramatic transformation
will win for this uprising!
Wow that's a lot of money-AND you get healthy, fit, & sexy in the meantime,
that's a no brain-er if you ask me ;)
It's not too late to jump on board, the 3rd week starts Monday, so check it out here & good luck!
Much love

Revolt Blogger ~Week 1~ Checkout What The Bzzz Is All About AND I Lost 5 Pounds!
Hi everyone! I'm just
jumping back into blogging more regularly, as you know I have put Stay At Home
Nation on the back burner for the past several months. Life, health
issues, and family took over on my list of priorities, and I just haven't had the
free time. To put into blogging like I would like to. In fact, I haven't had
much free time period. But isn't that the excuse that most of us make, whether
it be with friends, with work, cleaning, dieting, or anything else I didn't
mention that you may put off. But you have to make time for the things
that are most important to you. With that being said, I want to share with you
a program I just started this week called Revolt- with Nichole Huntsman.
Revolt Now
Fitness makes it possible to lose those extra pounds & tone your body up in
no time. When I was first contacted 2 weeks ago about trying out the
program, I was just finishing my first week on a slow carb diet & was
seeing results but I knew I would have to incorporate some sort of fitness but
didn't really know where to begin. I took a look at the Revolt Now Fitness web page
& was inspired by Nichole's story. (see it here) I could relate to her, with her
being a mother of 4 also and going from heavy to a fit, foxy mama with no flab.
Seriously she has won competitions and I doubt you could pinch any fat on her
if you tried. Not to say I want to be a body builder or even look like one, but
I would like to fit back into my cute clothes instead of them just hanging in
my closet. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin again & be sexy again
from head to toe.
Nichole Huntsman came up with the Revolt program to help anyone, male or
female, on any level, needing weight loss, just to tone, or both. Whether you
need to lose a little or a lot, she has taken the guesswork out of where to
start & what to do to achieve your goals. With the program she gives you a
weekly meal plan, daily workouts, and you even get a cheat day! Every six
weeks starts a new "uprising" which you can start on day one with
everyone else, or you can jump in whenever. Monday starts week 2, so it's not
too late to get on board.
I
am writing this after my first full week on the program & today is actually
my cheat day. While the meal plan this week has not been exciting, it certainly
is better tasting than then alternatives out there. This week was the
sugar detox, which wasn't too hard for me, since I had already detoxed from
sugar the week before on the diet I was doing previously. You do get a lot of
food on the Revolt diet, with eating 5-6 times a day, you may ask how in the
world can I find the time to eat that many times a day? Well it's simple
really, with the meal prep done on Sunday for the whole week, you just grab it
& go. You work out when you can fit it in, which is a 20 minute intense
workout. What I really like is that Nichole is a personal trainer & she has
the videos posted daily on her site & you do them in the comfort of your
own home, or work, or where ever you can fit it in to your schedule. In
her videos, she does it at an intermediate level & pace but you can adjust
it to the level you need. What's great about it though, is that she does all of
the circuits with you so there is no guessing if you did it right or long
enough and she encourages you along the way too, which is nice too! You will
feel the burn! I over did it the first two workouts, and sadly could barely
walk so I had to miss my last two workouts of the week :/
So now
onto my week's progress, I am down 5 lbs this week (I have been under the
weather all week with a cough & cold so not feeling 100%), but overall, I
feel good. I am very pleased about my weight loss so far & am looking
forward to the weeks to come. I think the main tool that has helped me stay on
track, besides that my husband is on the Revolt fitness plan too, is the Facebook community.
Everyone on there is so encouraging & helpful. You are not in this alone,
which helps you stay accountable AND these men & women are all on the same
diet, same workout, same day you are which helps you to not feel left behind
too! :) If you have a question, you can post it on the secure(members only) Facebook page &
you will get an answer quickly, sometimes from Nichole herself as she is very
active in the community.
I am so lucky to have been asked to participate in the Revolt Now Fitness
challenge, and am so looking forward to swimsuit season! I hope you will take
the challenge with me too & know you can always contact me directly with
any questions concerning this or any other posts.
Have a great weekend! I know I am, as my husband & I are dining at a
French Restaurant in Buckhead tonight.....it is cheat day after all
& the kiddies are all with their grandparents tonight ;)
Much love

Dining Room Makeover Part 1 - Benjamin Moore Aura Paint
Hey guys, I just wanted to post some before & after pictures of my dining room makeover real quick. I know I have been absent from my blog here lately, but I have been dealing with some health issues. I am going into surgery tomorrow & will be down 2-3 weeks. I will post as soon as I feel well enough, so please be patient. I am going to post a bunch of giveaways in December (hint: it's going to be a countdown to Christmas thing & you won't wanna miss it).
I am so excited to show off this amazing new paint by Benjamin Moore called Aura.

(I will be updating more pictures over the next two weeks-so check back)
This was one coat!
It made my dining room take on a whole new feel-one of life. I love the color I chose- Atmospheric. The new Aura Paint by Benjamin Moore is the best paint I've ever used-hands down! It goes on so smooth & even. Look at how rich this color is, and that's another thing, their colors to choose from are unreal. Honestly it was hard narrowing the color down, but I LOVE the color! !
OK that's all for now....it's a work in progress but I will post more details on this post, and also in another post once the dining room is complete.
Please keep me in your thoughts & prayers as I am healing.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving & I will be back as soon as I can!
Much love
~Cameron~
I was provided a gallon of Benjamin Moore Aura paint to review since I am a BzzAgent.

I have tried many all natural/paraben free products for both myself & my family, and most
of the time they just don't deliver for all of the qualities I look for & prefer.
There are a few exceptions, but most of the time they are just a big let down. I tried the
Silly Shampoo with my little ones and LOVED it!
It lathers up really well, surprisingly because typically
products that are as toxin free as the TruKid products lack the lather ability.
Lather is a must for me personally because when a product (shampoo especially) does not lather, it doesn't seem to spread as well, thus causing you to use more product to feel clean.
The Silly Shampoo by TruKid smells fantastic too, and comes in a pump bottle which is great so you don't use too much. My 3 year old daughter's hair is down the middle of her back & 1 pump is all I need with her. It is gentle on their eyes too & doesn't sting at all.
I also tried the Sunny Days Sport Sunscreen.
It has an spf 30, it's water resistant, and it's unscented. It is so gentle & since it is a lotion, it goes on easy for complete coverage. All four of my children have some sort of sensitive skin, but the Sunny Days Sport did not irritate any of them. I used it on their faces too(even though it's not listed for face), but it didn't cause my 13 year old to break out from it either, which is a definite plus!
If you are eager to try out these wonderful products, there is a Back to School Bundle that is on sale currently, so now is a great time to try them out.
In addition to the Silly Shampoo & the Sunny Days Sport, there is also their Cool Conditioner, Bubbly Body Wash, Happy Face & Body Lotion, and the Sunny Days Face Stick -all for $58.00 - Here Plus you get a free water bottle too!
I love this line & am eagerly awaiting hair & body products for adults too! (hint hint)

This week, I want to share with you a wonderful new to me
beauty product line for your hair.
It's hbl
Now, anyone who knows me, knows I like to dye my hair all sorts of fun colors
& am always changing it up. The downside to it, is that it takes a toll on your hair.
Especially if you bleach your hair, then that absolutely fries your hair!
I have been my natural hair color for the past 4 years, since I was first pregnant with #3 (Michaela) until just recently. That's when I decided I was ready for a change. After the second time bleaching, my hair felt horrible as I washed out my hair. I was a little scared honestly. I thought I had really messed my hair up. I knew I needed
some major repair, and fast!
I had received three full sized products from hbl and they were supposed to be wonderful
for dried out hair. So I did what any girl who knows they may be in a pickle & reached for help,
which in this case was the kit from hbl.
It consisted of the Hydrating Shampoo ($29.95 value)
This is a ph balanced shampoo(ph 4.5-5.5) that gently cleanses, moisturizes, & straightens all types of hair. Plus it is safe on colored hair & actually prevents fading, so make your color last much longer!
Unlike most ph balanced shampoos, this one actually makes a nice, rich lather. I wash my hair with this, then rinse, then shampoo again but with just a dime sized amount & it lathers up beautifully!
Hydrating Conditioner ($32.95 value)
The ph of the conditioner is 3.5-4.5, it smooths, moisturizes, & protects hair without weighing it down. This conditioner closes the cuticle & makes your hair stronger, preventing breakage & color fading. Contains Keratin Amino Acids, silk protein, chamomile leaf extract, & vitamins A, E, & C.
Straight & Style ($33.95)
Straight & Style lets you smooth, straighten, & create frizz free hairstyles while
allowing you to flip, curl, & style all in one fabulous product! It contains Panthenol, Guar, & Glycerin to help thicken & smooth your hair with ease. The ph is 5.0-6.0, and ladies,
this product is amazing! It makes me want to try their Hair Masque, Spray Mouse, Texture & Styling Cream, Thermal Spray, & Shine & Seal!
They have so many products, you will find the right fit. They even have a Product Recommender to help you find the right products for your hair texture, condition, & style.
With the HBL Straightening & Styling system, easily cleanse & condition, while smoothing your hair.
"Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner moisturize parched tresses while Straight & Style creates smooth, straight, & frizz-free styles almost effortlessly."
HBL products are free of harsh(cancer causing) ingredients, and will make you love your hair again!
So if YOU would like to win a 3 piece, full sized kit from hbl like the one I reviewed above(1 Hydrate shampoo, 1 Hydrate conditioner, & 1 Straight & Style product)
then enter below, through the Rafflecopter form
&
Good Luck!
Also, if you can't wait to try it, or don't win this giveaway, then receive a FREE Straight & Style($33.95 value) when you purchase HBL Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner! Here
The shampoo & conditioner did have a strong chemical smell that I didn't care for (but my nose is super sensitive). The product's performance makes up for the smell, but I still needed to mention it.
Thank you again to HBL
I was provided a 3 piece full size kit of the same items listed in the giveaway but all opinions are 100% mine & honest.
Much love
