Who am I?

My photo
Hi, I'm Cameron (aka Iffy), a stay at home mother to 4 beautiful children. My family is my life! I am not crafty by nature....but I am learning =D I will share my experiences with you(good & bad) with crafts, DIY, cooking, and life. I say what's on my mind, and remain honest, it's just who I am. Love it or leave it =D So follow me and see my progress as I document my journey, and If All Else Fails....at least you have gained a friend and gotten some great tips or maybe learned something new along the way!

My Favorite Things Friday Link Party ~ #9 ~DIY Ice Pack

This week I've been in a lot of pain from my treatments for my thoracic herniated disc
and on top of that I've had a crick in my neck the past 2 days...
but life's daily responsibilities must go on. There are still kids to take care of, diapers to change, laundry to fold, meals to make, & dishes to clean....just to name a few.
So today I want to share with you how to make your own flexible ice pack.
I am constantly using ice on my back lately, as it helps numb the pain somewhat.
I've used frozen vegetables, ice cubes in a bag, & even hard ice packs from the kids lunches.
Ya I know, not comfortable, so I decided I wanted needed one of those gel ice packs.
I wondered if I could make one of my own. I found quite a few recipes online & after making
one that never set up, just was really cold liquid, I tweaked it.
Here's what I did,
I took 2 cups of water & 1 cup of rubbing alcohol
& added that to a foodsaver bag.
Then I squeezed some food coloring into it & sealed the bag. Make sure not to use
the vacuum when you seal it if using a foodsaver.
There you have it, toss it into the freezer & it will set to where it is still flexible.
The best thing about using the foodsaver for this is that it won't leak &
you can make whatever size you need.
Great to use on your back, ankle, elbow, or anything else you need an ice pack for!
Super easy & super inexpensive! Can we say awesome?!

So let's look at my favorites from last week in my Stay At Home Nation Spotlight
