Danbury Lane Tutu Review ~ Part Two
Say that title 3 times fast =D
Alright so let me just tell you how much I am in love with tutus now!
I used to think they were only for ballerinas & fairies
But that is no longer the case.
My 23 month old, Michaela just loves Tinkerbell, as most little girls do, so you can imagine her excitement
when we opened our box from Danbury Lane.
I had the opportunity to review the Sweet Tart Tutu with Michaela.
It is such a sweet, soft assortment of colors. There is a big, beautiful bow clipped onto the waist
which can easily be removed.
Each tutu is custom handmade to order
& you can tell that Rebekah takes pride in her tutus by how well they are made.
If you don't see a tutu in the size you need, just ask her. Most of the tutus can be custom made to
the size you need, but she specializes in newborn, baby, & toddler sizes.
Here's some of what is listed on her etsy store:
"THANKS FOR VISITING Danbury Lane™, home to my unique and amazing tutu designs! I offer custom tutus for infants, toddlers, young girls, older girls, and adults too. I do make every tutu myself, using my special double-hand-knotted technique. Rather than hand-tied pieces that can come loose, or threads that can break, my quality tutus are stretchy and sturdy and are worn and loved by over a thousand girls world-wide!
Danbury Lane tutus are great for costumes, birthday gifts, pageants, recitals, newborn portraits, photo props, shower gifts, sister portraits, weddings, Halloween, holiday gifts and so much more! __________
EACH TUTU IS CUSTOM HANDMADE TO ORDER in my smoke free professional home studio, and filled with the softest tulle available. My crafting process involves layers and layers of soft tulle pieces that are carefully trimmed, twisted, and knotted into place by hand to form my unique designs. I make all of my own tutu patterns, and many have the teardrop shaped hemline specific to Danbury Lane tutus. I use soft non-roll elastic for a stretchy no-twist waist allowing plenty of room to grow. I feel it's important to use high quality, USA made, 100% nylon tulle that has been manufacturer tested beyond current child safety regulations. Due to manufacturer dye lots and computer monitors, colors may vary slightly."
So if you are looking for a great gift, Halloween costume, or photo prop
look no further! There are so many tutus to choose from
the possibilities are endless. Every little girl needs a tutu even if it's just for
dress up. Michaela now thinks she IS Tinkerbell =D
Be sure to enter my giveaway for your choice of any tutu from Danbury Lane HERE
Danbury Lane is also offering Free Shipping with ANY order when using the code
ILUVTUTUS at checkout
Thanks again to Rebekah at Danbury Lane.
Much love

My Favorite Things Friday Link Party ~ #9 ~DIY Ice Pack
This week I've been in a lot of pain from my treatments for my thoracic herniated disc
and on top of that I've had a crick in my neck the past 2 days...
but life's daily responsibilities must go on. There are still kids to take care of, diapers to change, laundry to fold, meals to make, & dishes to clean....just to name a few.
So today I want to share with you how to make your own flexible ice pack.
I am constantly using ice on my back lately, as it helps numb the pain somewhat.
I've used frozen vegetables, ice cubes in a bag, & even hard ice packs from the kids lunches.
Ya I know, not comfortable, so I decided Iwanted needed one of those gel ice packs.
I wondered if I could make one of my own. I found quite a few recipes online & after making
one that never set up, just was really cold liquid, I tweaked it.
Here's what I did,
I took 2 cups of water & 1 cup of rubbing alcohol
& added that to a foodsaver bag.
Then I squeezed some food coloring into it & sealed the bag. Make sure not to use
the vacuum when you seal it if using a foodsaver.
There you have it, toss it into the freezer & it will set to where it is still flexible.
The best thing about using the foodsaver for this is that it won't leak &
you can make whatever size you need.
Great to use on your back, ankle, elbow, or anything else you need an ice pack for!
Super easy & super inexpensive! Can we say awesome?!
So let's look at my favorites from last week in my Stay At Home Nation Spotlight
I am so making some of these pretty DIY Blue jars from The Single Nester
And Shaped By Grace shared this creative S'mores recipe
Ok & how awesome would it be to make your own underwear in whatever pattern you like?
Cheryl from Sew Can Do shows us how.

Good evening to all, hope you had a wonderful weekend.....
I hope you are all staying cool, man it's been HOT,
I feel for those of you in hotter parts of the nation/world than Georgia though.
Today's giveaway is from Funky Feet Flip Flop Charms aka gagesmom314 on etsy.
I had never heard of these, but I personally think they are as cute as toe rings, but
a whole lot more comfortable.
I put a kitty cat one on Sydney's cute little sandal (Note: Not a flip flop)
I wish I had a pair of these sandals in my size lol
OK so looks adorable on there though right? I had wanted to put it in the center of
the crisscross but it was too wide & did this
Yeah not so cute, sticking straight up in the air......so I moved it to the side a little & it's perfect!!
I love the black against her white sandal, even though we aren't technically "cat" people,
I have to admit, it is pretty stinkin' cute.
Take a look at a few of the charms they have to offer
Mollie from Funky Feet Flip Flop Charms is offering 25% off when you use SAHNB at checkout.
You can customize the charms to suit your personal style by using letter
charms or multiple charms. Mollie will even try to order a charm for you to fit a specific theme you are looking for, just ask her.
Thanks to Funky Feet Flip Flop Charms this cute little Monkey Face Charm
is going to one of my readers! =D
Wouldn't he be cute on your little monkey's flip flop or even on yours?

My Favorite Things Friday Link Party ~ #8 & Baby Teething Treats
My little guy has been working hard on cutting some teeth,
none yet but it sure is making him cranky. So my friend told me a wonderful tip & I am going to share this with you today. You will thank me if you have a cranky, teething baby!
My friend used fruit juice, but my little man isn't on juice yet so I thought why not peaches & prunes?
I used 2 silicone trays from Ikea & spooned the baby food into each little shape.
The Gerber stage 2 were a perfect fit for these trays.
Pop em in the freezer until set.
Once set, pop em out
and push them into this nifty little, mesh, teething gadget. Sorry not sure what it's called
but it is AWESOME! I can't believe I never tried it until my 4th baby haha.
I always thought it seemed messy & gross.....
yes it's still messy but since the food is frozen, it takes longer.
I also put sliced frozen bananas in this, which Landon loves too.
Give it a try & you will have one happy camper.
And now for the Stay At Home Nation Spotlight
This adorable DIY Lamp shade is from Abbey at Life Treasured
Did I say adorable? Yes it is!
And the talented Amy over at One Artsy Mama shows us how to make this cute knock off.
Saving Money living life shares this delicious looking recipe. Yum, I'm getting hungry.
Thank you for all of your beautiful, crafty, creative, & yummy posts!

Surprise Giveaway!!! #7 ~ Etchworld ~NOW CLOSED & How to etch a jar
This giveaway is now closed.
Thank you again to Etchworld
CONGRATULATIONS to #3 ~Mrs. A~ I'd love to see what you etch.
Thank you to all who entered & check out my weekly giveaways(every Monday)
XoXo
Surprise!! I wanted to do a pop giveaway today just for fun!
This giveaway is a prize pack from Etchworld
They are currently running a Christmas in July sale so check that out,
but they are also giving my readers an additional 5% off at checkout when you use the code
july2011 (no caps!)
One of my readers will win this awesome prize pack which includes
*a book about glass etching, with everything you need to know on how to etch
*a book about glass cutting
*1 bottle of Blue Etch(with design tip)so you can draw your own words or images or add detail
*1 blank sheet of reusable stencil material (custom make a stencil in a cutting machine)
*1 sheet of rub on letter stencils (Old Endlish Letters)
Plus additional information on all they have to offer.
First let me show you how to etch a jar using stencils.
I tried my hand at stenciling & I personally like how it turned out.
This was my first time with using etch cream(Armor Etch)
I used a mason jar & the Over n Over stencil letters
Start with a clean, dry jar. These letters we so easy to work with because they
just stick right on....
NOTE: make sure they are side by side with each other & don't leave any spacing like I did.
Just peel it off gently & reposition.
Yes I am preparing a jar so I can make attempt to make my own pickles.
Tape around the edges & anything you don't want etched.
You will need to wear gloves & be in a well ventilated area per the directions.
Keep away from children and pets!
With a paintbrush layer on the etch cream so you can no longer see the stencil.
Start timing......60 seconds exactly!
I did mine at the kitchen sink & ran the water until it warmed since you need to
rinse with warm water when time is up & you don't want to
be waiting on the cold water to heat up once your time is up.
OK so at this point I rinsed & rubbed gently with my still gloved finger,
dried it with a paper towel & saw that it wasn't as etched as I would like.
So simple enough, on went another coat & another 60 seconds later,
We have a pickle jar! =D
Sorry it's hard to see but it is just so sunny today that everywhere
I tried to take a picture there was glare, so I put it in front of my foodsaver to see.
Rinse your stencils under warm water & stick them back on the original sheet & they are ready to use again when you are! How convenient is that?
Rinse your stencils under warm water & stick them back on the original sheet & they are ready to use again when you are! How convenient is that?
So... what was the coolest thing you have etched?
That's the question....(or what would you like to etch)

Yesterday felt like Saturday to me,
so I apologize for posting on Monday but time kinda got away from me this weekend.
This week I am giving away 2 items from the little things
These items are adorable, & she has over 300 items currently to choose from in her shop!
I was able to try out this cute M. Miller Blue Zoology Fabric and Chenille Bib
I LOVE this print! I think it can go either way, as it is boyish enough with the colors & animals, but then
the little flowers put a feminine touch to it. It is well crafted & the chenille back is very soft! After several
washes it held up like new! No shrinking, no fraying, & very little fuzz remnants. All in all,
these are really great quality bibs and super cute!
Check out some of the other items the little things has to offer
The Sage Central Park Toile Patchwork Blanket looks so soft & is sure to be a favorite "blankie"
for your little one.
And many rattle blocks & balls like this M Miller Boho Blossom Fabric Ball Rattle Toy
She even offers these cute Daisy Dreams Fabric Reversible Headband
Would you like to see what 2 items 1 of my lucky readers will receive??
If you have a baby or know someone who does....I mean what a great gift this would be!
