Revolt Blogger ~ Week 3 Dieting And Young Children=A Very Challenging Combo
So here I am in week 3 of the Revolt Fitness Program by Nichole Huntsman.
I'm gonna be honest,
(some people may find it a fault to be honest in everything you say, but that's
just how I live)
but if you ever tried working out with little ones under you, or a million
other things that can (and do) pop up to throw a wrench in your fitness routine
or dieting,
then you know what I mean.
The Revolt program does work, and pre making all of your food for the week
helps you stay on the plan & not stray, but my biggest question is......
What do you feed your children when you are on a fitness program like Revolt?
I mean my two older children (ages 14 & 8) go with the flow
and eat whatever we put on their plate.
However, my younger two (ages 3 & 2)......not so much.
So, I don't always cook all of my food for the week, because
well I am at home, so I'd rather cook my meals 2-3 days at a time.
My husband is doing the plan with me, just to share in the experience
and give me another perspective, a man's point of view shall we say?
Anyways, that is where we find the biggest problem with being strict to
a plan. We are a family of 6, on my husband's income & 2 of our children eat like adults.
We have been shopping at Trader Joe's the last few weeks we have been on the Revolt
program, and then we still have to go to Publix for our meats, eggs, milk,
and any other produce we want, and our grocery bill has gone from
$150 a week to $300. That's a huge jump when you're trying to stay in a budget.
I am finding it hard to keep up with the diet, since we can't really plan or prepare, as we don't get the next week's meal plan until a day or two before the next week starts. This plan is great for single men & women because it's easy and you get results fast! I just don't see it being sustainable for me,
as much as I want it to be. When you have young children, or a large family (yes & yes)
you either need more planning or a meal plan that works for the whole family.
There's also the issue of trying to find time to workout when you have a large family. Whether it's trying to schedule it around nap time or getting up before everyone else, but let's face it, that doesn't always happen when you have kids.
Just take your time and give it your all (or all you can that day) and you will reach your goal...
We will reach our goals!
Much Love

Revolt Blogger ~Week 2 ~ Stay Strong, Temptation Is All Around
So here we are, another week down on the Revolt program and I must say it was a much tastier week with the addition of pancakes made with oatmeal, then there was greek yogurt with strawberries, sweet potato fries, and even dessert! I didn't have the ricotta tiramisu as we had missed grabbing the ricotta while at the store, so I just substituted with a whey protein shake. My suggestion to all of you who don't like whey protein, grab the vanilla whey protein from Trader Joe's. I personally cannot stand anything that tastes like vitamins or gritty. This was the first time I'd ever tried whey protein powder and it was very smooth, frothy even, and didn't have a grittiness to it or a weird taste either. Trust me, I'm super sensitive to tastes & smells.
It seems on this fitness plan, that each week the menu gets a little better, and of course you still get the once a week, "eat anything you've been craving day". Even with that cheat day to look forward to, getting through the week can be hard. We ordered pizza one night for the kiddos, and while I've never been big into pizza, it sure smelled yummy that night while my hubby & I ate our chicken :( like we were supposed to.
Now Thursday night, that was another story....because by Thursday I was sweet potato & green beaned out. I had been having a hard time eating all the food on the plan as it was, as you need your protein to repair your muscles. We just couldn't stomach the balsamic chicken that I made in the crock pot for dinner that night and well the veggies didn't hold us over that long. We had been making the chicken that week just with a little salt & pepper even though it called for balsamic, but when I made it Thursday, it just tasted SO strongly of vinegar. My husband ended up making a run to Five Guys later that night for "dinner", and yes I had the most delicious LBC I've had ;)
However, I felt guilty afterwards.
It seems I wasn't the only one who slipped up this week, as some of the ladies confessed of eating candy bars, fast food, and more. None of which are on the plan, but we are all human and we make mistakes. You have to stay strong and when you slip up, own up & then try harder next time to stay on track. Weight loss & getting & staying fit is a lifestyle change, so it's not going to happen over night.
Temptation is everywhere, especially if you have kids,
work outside the home, or go to the store, the movies,
it's EVERYWHERE!
It's about staying strong and staying focused on the prize,
for me.....it's to feel comfortable in my own skin again.
For you......it could be $10,000 as that is what the person with the most dramatic transformation
will win for this uprising!
Wow that's a lot of money-AND you get healthy, fit, & sexy in the meantime,
that's a no brain-er if you ask me ;)
It's not too late to jump on board, the 3rd week starts Monday, so check it out here & good luck!
Much love

Revolt Blogger ~Week 1~ Checkout What The Bzzz Is All About AND I Lost 5 Pounds!
Hi everyone! I'm just
jumping back into blogging more regularly, as you know I have put Stay At Home
Nation on the back burner for the past several months. Life, health
issues, and family took over on my list of priorities, and I just haven't had the
free time. To put into blogging like I would like to. In fact, I haven't had
much free time period. But isn't that the excuse that most of us make, whether
it be with friends, with work, cleaning, dieting, or anything else I didn't
mention that you may put off. But you have to make time for the things
that are most important to you. With that being said, I want to share with you
a program I just started this week called Revolt- with Nichole Huntsman.
Revolt Now
Fitness makes it possible to lose those extra pounds & tone your body up in
no time. When I was first contacted 2 weeks ago about trying out the
program, I was just finishing my first week on a slow carb diet & was
seeing results but I knew I would have to incorporate some sort of fitness but
didn't really know where to begin. I took a look at the Revolt Now Fitness web page
& was inspired by Nichole's story. (see it here) I could relate to her, with her
being a mother of 4 also and going from heavy to a fit, foxy mama with no flab.
Seriously she has won competitions and I doubt you could pinch any fat on her
if you tried. Not to say I want to be a body builder or even look like one, but
I would like to fit back into my cute clothes instead of them just hanging in
my closet. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin again & be sexy again
from head to toe.
Nichole Huntsman came up with the Revolt program to help anyone, male or
female, on any level, needing weight loss, just to tone, or both. Whether you
need to lose a little or a lot, she has taken the guesswork out of where to
start & what to do to achieve your goals. With the program she gives you a
weekly meal plan, daily workouts, and you even get a cheat day! Every six
weeks starts a new "uprising" which you can start on day one with
everyone else, or you can jump in whenever. Monday starts week 2, so it's not
too late to get on board.
I
am writing this after my first full week on the program & today is actually
my cheat day. While the meal plan this week has not been exciting, it certainly
is better tasting than then alternatives out there. This week was the
sugar detox, which wasn't too hard for me, since I had already detoxed from
sugar the week before on the diet I was doing previously. You do get a lot of
food on the Revolt diet, with eating 5-6 times a day, you may ask how in the
world can I find the time to eat that many times a day? Well it's simple
really, with the meal prep done on Sunday for the whole week, you just grab it
& go. You work out when you can fit it in, which is a 20 minute intense
workout. What I really like is that Nichole is a personal trainer & she has
the videos posted daily on her site & you do them in the comfort of your
own home, or work, or where ever you can fit it in to your schedule. In
her videos, she does it at an intermediate level & pace but you can adjust
it to the level you need. What's great about it though, is that she does all of
the circuits with you so there is no guessing if you did it right or long
enough and she encourages you along the way too, which is nice too! You will
feel the burn! I over did it the first two workouts, and sadly could barely
walk so I had to miss my last two workouts of the week :/
So now
onto my week's progress, I am down 5 lbs this week (I have been under the
weather all week with a cough & cold so not feeling 100%), but overall, I
feel good. I am very pleased about my weight loss so far & am looking
forward to the weeks to come. I think the main tool that has helped me stay on
track, besides that my husband is on the Revolt fitness plan too, is the Facebook community.
Everyone on there is so encouraging & helpful. You are not in this alone,
which helps you stay accountable AND these men & women are all on the same
diet, same workout, same day you are which helps you to not feel left behind
too! :) If you have a question, you can post it on the secure(members only) Facebook page &
you will get an answer quickly, sometimes from Nichole herself as she is very
active in the community.
I am so lucky to have been asked to participate in the Revolt Now Fitness
challenge, and am so looking forward to swimsuit season! I hope you will take
the challenge with me too & know you can always contact me directly with
any questions concerning this or any other posts.
Have a great weekend! I know I am, as my husband & I are dining at a
French Restaurant in Buckhead tonight.....it is cheat day after all
& the kiddies are all with their grandparents tonight ;)
Much love
~Iffy~
